Thermal Plant Upgrade
The Darwin Performing Arts Centre was commissioned in the eraly eighties with the majority of the original air-conditioning was utilised. FRM was contracted to upgrade the original air conditioning system to a new thermal plant which included an entire new thermal plant room built on the top level of the building and new cooling towers. As the primary contractor on site FRM were responsible for coordinating all trades, including all demolition & new engineering/building works, electrical, BMS, fire and hydraulic services to ensure a complete and fully functional working system.
Mechanical upgrade two equal sized water-cooled chillers, one low load water-cooled chiller, three primary chilled water pumps, three condenser water pumps, three secondary chilled water pumps in a lead-lag configuration, two cooling towers and one storage tank (2000L)
